El Parador, de construcción conventual, se erige sobre lo que fuera el antiguo hospital de San Juan Bautista, edificio histórico del S. XV. Es un espacio confortable y acogedor con encaladas arquerías adornadas de vegetación que invita a la paz y al sosiego en el entorno de una bella ciudad declarada Monumento Histórico Artístico. Entre sus dependencias destacan el jardín, auténtico vergel de plantas y flores, su recogida piscina, amplias estancias en el interior con paredes blancas, y habitaciones que rememoran la religiosa función de sus orígenes. La sencilla cocina de la tierra se presenta deliciosa en platos representativos: bacalao monacal, ajo blanco extremeño, migas extremeñas, pollo a lo padre Pedro, embutidos ibéricos, caldereta de cordero, pudding de castañas y muégado de Guadalupe.

Description:
The Parador, with its conventual style, rises up on what was the former Hospital of St John the Baptist, a historical 15th c. building. It is a comfortable, friendly space, with whitewashed arches adorned with vegetation, an invitation to peace and quiet in the setting of a beautiful town declared a Historical and Artistic Monument. The garden stands out with its luxuriant plants and flowers, its secluded swimming pool, spacious common rooms on the inside with white walls, and bedrooms which recall the religious function of its origins. The simple but delicious local cooking can be seen in representative dishes: "bacalao monacal" (cod, potatoes and spinach), "ajo blanco extremeño" (garlic dish), "migas extremeñas" (fried breadcrumbs), "pollo a lo padre Pedro" (chicken), Iberian sausages, "caldereta de cordero" (lamb stew), chestnut pudding and "muégado de Guadalupe" (fried sweet). This Parador has twenty six twin bedded rooms, fourteen rooms with a double bed and a suite all of which have a private bathroom. Every guest room has a telephone, satellite television, safe and a mini bar. The Parador is air conditioned and has a restaurant and bar. Facilities are available for business meetings.
